We are excited to be able to offer customized text on the front of The Knob Blocker! Select Yes under custom text and when clicking ‘Add to cart’, you will be prompted to enter the custom text you want.
Please note the following considerations for custom text:
Currently only available when you choose the black color (text will be white.)
Enter it exactly as you want it to appear, including spaces, uppercase, lowercase characters etc.
Character limit is 8 (a space counts as a character.)
There is an additional cost to the customization of $9.50 CAD ( approx $7 USD based on currency exchange)
Why we made The Knob Blocker - Radio knob guard
At Skookum Works, our mission is to create products that solve real-world problems and enhance safety and efficiency. The inspiration for The Knob Blocker, the portable two-way radio knob guard accessory, came directly from the field. Our founder, a member of the Squamish Search and Rescue team, experienced a serious safety concern while hanging under the long line of a helicopter. He accidentally bumped the volume down to the lowest setting on his radio, which resulted in not being able to hear anything without realizing it.

Release Date – July 15, 2024
Key Enhancements in The Knob Blocker Version 1.5:
Improved Fit: The Knob Blocker is now more form-fitting to the top of the radio, leaving little to no gaps.
Easier Volume Control: The volume knob is slightly easier to manipulate while still offering excellent protection against accidental turning.
Added Rear Guard: A new rear guard for the channel knob has been added (previously only a front guard existed) to prevent accidental turning from the rear, such as when the radio is clipped onto a waist belt.

The Knob Blocker (Radio knob guard) - Material
We use PETG (Polyethylene terephaphthalate Glycol), a thermoplastic material for 3D printing The Knob Blocker. PETG is one of the most popular filaments for 3D prints because it has high impact strength, durability , resistance to water intrusion and good printability offering excellent layer adhesion. PETG is a food-safe material and is recyclable.
